this might be over in beijing but isn't anyone worried about what the heck is still getting into this country or if any of the 'snacks' we've aready eaten have been nothing but some fibre scraped off the sidewalk, slipped into plastic bags and sold as 'tasty treats'???

Yes I do, the power in this one comment alone proves it. To say goodbye to family and friends, YOUR OWN children because your belief system is wrong takes strength many couldn't never do.
I also know what being raised in a system that excludes a outside life can feel like once you remove yourself from it. The toughest "pill" I have ever had to swallow. I think of all those "devoted" born agains,muslims,hindu's,buddists,mormon's and what it would be like for them to leave something they have only known and be treated the way we EX-JW's are, not sure they could deal with it,honestly. Admitting your parents, your friends, to yourself its wrong takes oneself to the deepest part of their very being.
I am proud to be in this company of amazing strength

Buying High end Appliances,...worse than the standard!..don't bother!

with the first i bought midrange and the best refrigerator out there leaving it to the new buyers.
(french door refrigerator) i loved it, but it was too big for our latest digs.. spent over $7000.00.....which my my mom got credit for.......she spouted who cares, yet she got top dollar for her condo because of all the appliances we replaced and included.. for my home i purchased a $1000.00 german stove, (bosch...a floor model that was much more expensive) .... which as been a major pain in the a##.

You hit the nail on the head. I'm in the Appliance industry,30 plus years, and the high end products are usually dressed up low end or mid range appliances with extra unnecessary bells and whistles that can and do break.
Overseas products while well manufactured often do not have good support, parts, service, customer care to be worth the trouble when a problem arises. The front load washer/dryer units while advertising low energy consumption, namely water usage, fall way short in washability in large loads and yes the mildew problem affects them all if as you have painfully found out, you don't cut back on the load size. Using bleach is a must to control the mold and mildewy look and smell around the door gasket or "boot"
Save your money, most model appliances are priced based on the name attached to the front and the cosmetics. One manufacturer usually has multiple names it offers, under the hood, the low ends have the same inner workings as the high priced units.
One last piece of advice, Manufacturers and Dealers make very little on the low end products, that's why the expensive models are pushed so heavily. Line your own pockets, not theirs and stay away from paying for what amounts to nothing in the long run.

Let the stones cry out!
by WTWizard inhow often have you heard the phrase "if we don't preach, the stones would cry out"?
this is in regard to the ministry.. what i cannot figure out is (1) this is so urgent that we have to be out 18+ hours a day doing it, (2) we have to endure all sorts of conditions to accomplish our ministry, and (3) we are supposed to get it perfect so people can be drawn in.
so, why don't the stones get to help us out?

Literal or not, this was one of those phrases that always made my think about all the worlds Religions and what would happen if everyone just stopped preaching, going to Church,etc. Would anything change, would rocks cry out, or would GOD show us who he really is and give us a little help down here.
Everyone thinks they are right, naturally in how they believe or not. Personally, It would be nice to find out what the absense of Religion REALLY would cause. I mean what would GOD do, destroy us all?
Just thinking, with Islam, Hindus,Buddists, JW's, Mormons, Jews and the rest of the Christian Religions, it overwelming how many, how different all of them are.
I'm ready for the rocks myself...

Just curious Warlock, are you referring to "dancing lights" and "toilet seats being left up" and the dissappearing to only reappear jewerly or is there more?
Personally, I have never had any experiences like that, well.. the toilet seat being up I have tried to blame on spirits but my wife isn't buying it! and my car keys are always missing, but besides that, no spirit or demons love me, (sigh) Oh,I forgot, my Daughters puppy has more than once crapped in my house which she denies, so maybe I Have had a similiar experience, HA!
Do you work and live where these occurences have taken place? Honestly, I would run for the hills if just one of them happened and my only explanation is the paranormal, but that's just me.
Just asking Buddy, how do you handle these experiences, truthfully..
